Choose your path

There’s no single right way to make a Maypop app. Pick the one that sounds like you — you can switch any time, and they all make the same kind of app.

“I’ve never built an app”

Use Studio. You describe what you want in everyday words; an AI agent builds it, tests it, and shows it to you. You never have to see code.

  1. Build your first app — five minutes.
  2. Learn the words you’ll see.
  3. Share it with the people it’s for.

Good to know:

  • You can’t break anything. Every change is saved, and Revert takes you back.
  • Apps start private. Nobody sees yours until you share it.
  • Free accounts get 3,000 credits a day — plenty for building small apps.
  • Not sure what to make? Explore what others built and remix something close.

“I chat with AI assistants all the time”

Connect Maypop to Claude or ChatGPT and build from the conversation you already have open. The assistant creates the app in Studio, asks you the agent’s questions, and shares it when you say so.

Use the CLI and your own repository. Install the Maypop skill so your assistant knows the platform, test with the SDK’s local host, and publish with maypop publish.

The CLI is included with the Pro plan.

Everything above is optional. A Maypop app is static HTML, CSS and JavaScript plus the maypop SDK for accounts, data, files, multiplayer and AI. Read What a Maypop app is, try the live poll tutorial, and publish with the CLI or by importing your files into Studio.
