What makes an app rank
Section titled “What makes an app rank”Ranking blends two things:
- Quality — how well the app is made, how it looks, and the ratings people other than its creator give it.
- Use — how many different people open it and come back, how long they spend, and how often it’s shared and remixed, with recent activity counting most.
A brand-new app with no history can still show up in Fresh.
Search engines and link previews
Section titled “Search engines and link previews”Public apps can be found on Google and other search engines; unlisted and private apps are kept out. When an app’s link is pasted into a chat or a social post, the preview shows the app’s name, description and cover.
Give your app a good listing
Section titled “Give your app a good listing”- A clear name — a few concrete words.
- A one-sentence description saying what it does and for whom. It’s what search engines and previews show.
- The right category.
- A real cover — a 4:3 image with one clear subject and no text. Studio
makes one for you; replace it under
App settings. - Something worth rating. Ratings from other people are part of quality.
