Remix an app

Found an app that’s almost what you want? Remix it. You get your own copy, owned by you, and can change anything about it in Studio. The original isn’t touched.

Remix an app

• From the share sheet: Remix this app.
• On Explore: right-click (or long-press) an app and choose Remix.
• From the app’s menu: Remix.

What you get

• A new app with its own address, data, files and history.
• The code of the source’s published version — unpublished work in its Studio stays with its owner.
• Its category, tags and cover, until you change them.
• A private app. Nobody else sees it until you share it.
• A Remixed from link back to the original in the app’s details.

Data isn’t copied: your remix starts with an empty store and Drive, under the same data rules as the original.

Let others remix yours

Turn on Allow remixing in your app’s share sheet. Remixing needs the app to have a published version, and people can only remix apps they can open. The app’s details show Remixing Allowed or Off.
