Apps in groups

On the group’s shelf, press Create app for group. Studio opens, and the app is shared into the group the first time it’s saved, so members see it on the shelf straight away.

The app’s owner adds groups from the share sheet: type the group’s name into Add people by email, username or group. Choose the group’s role:

Group role Members can
Can view Open the app read-only
Can use Use it fully — add and change data (default)
Can edit Also open it in Studio and publish new versions

One app can be in many groups. Every group gets the same app with the same data — people in two groups see one shared set of data, not two.

Group owners can set which members can add apps to their group; members below that bar use the group’s apps read-only and can’t publish new ones there.

The app’s owner removes a group from the share sheet with Remove group access. A group’s owner and admins can also take an app off their shelf: “The app and its data stay with the owner.”
