Changelog

The current release is v0.56.0. The same notes appear inside Maypop at /changelog.

  • The Maypop home page and public apps can show up in search engines like Google, while unlisted and private apps stay out of search.
  • Anyone you give edit access can open the app in Studio and build on it; everyone shares the latest state, and two people editing at once no longer overwrite each other’s work.
  • An app can limit who can see and change its files, including the type and size of files whose names match a rule.
  • A connected assistant can create, edit, and remix apps in Studio, follow the build and its questions, publish when you ask, and stop a running session to make room.
  • In Safari on iPhone and iPad, the notifications bell and Push on this device explain that push needs Maypop on your Home Screen.
  • A profile’s web address uses the person’s username, so it is easy to read, share, and remember.
  • A person’s face or name opens their profile from a chat message, a chat’s member list, group settings, the photo viewer, invites, and apps shared with you.
  • After 25 minutes with nothing running, Studio asks Still editing? and offers Keep editing and Publish; five minutes later it shows Studio paused, and Reconnect picks up where you left off.
  • Studio shows Checking your app... while it tests your app, and finishes sooner by checking a flow with more than one person in one pass.
  • On the new-app page, you can drop files anywhere on the Build for your people prompt, not only on the text box.
  • Usernames that impersonate a brand, product, or person, or that contain offensive language, are rejected.
  • Pressing Edit app on a published app with no Studio history opens its files instead of a blank Untitled App, and an app from the earlier Studio previews as soon as it opens.
  • A notification about a private remix of your app says so and opens the remixer’s profile instead of a remix you can’t see.
  • Signing in with your email on the web goes on to the code step instead of asking for your email again, and the email field and sign-in buttons stand out from the log-in card.
  • Changing an app’s cover, name, or description in Studio keeps its files and the image you chose, a name you give it stays when Studio updates the listing, and restoring an earlier iteration brings back that version’s name and description.
  • An imported project gets its name and cover on the first setup again, and a collaborator’s changes show up once a build finishes.
  • Changes to who can see an app’s saved data take effect when you save from Studio, including when a collaborator saves.
  • Publishing from Studio no longer stops with Publish cancelled. while another Studio tab for the same app is open.
  • Connecting an assistant asks for every permission at once, so later actions work without reconnecting, and Allow stays on screen when the list is long.
  • A Studio build started by a connected assistant no longer fails while it prepares the app, and it tells you when it cannot start instead of waiting.
  • The mobile app shows the Maypop mark while it opens instead of a blank screen.
  • A new app in Studio asks a few quick questions about your idea while it gets ready, then builds with your answers; Skip builds from your prompt as written.
  • A group’s apps panel has a Create app for group button that opens Studio aimed at the group, and an app you build there is shared to that group on your first save.
  • Pin a group from its settings or by right-clicking it in the sidebar, drag pinned apps and groups into any order, and the Pinned icon flashes when something is pinned or unpinned.
  • Group settings can set a group’s picture again, by upload or by generating one, and a group with a picture shows it in place of the member cluster.
  • Hovering a chat message shows a reaction button, and on phones touch and hold any message to react, edit, or delete it; while those actions are open the message lifts above the dimmed chat.
  • Connect an assistant to Maypop to catch up on invitations, notifications, and your apps, and, with your permission, to manage groups, chat, sharing, and app access.
  • Studio opens and starts new apps sooner, with the preview ready before your first message, and checks desktop and phone in one pass so new apps are ready in about half the time.
  • New apps start from a working template, so the first build names the app and sets its cover, and a link copied inside the app opens it on that same screen.
  • Group settings open in tabs for details, members, settings, analytics, and advanced, and the groups in your sidebar stay ordered by how recently you opened them.
  • An unpublished app shows a Draft pencil and a Publish button, a published card’s share badge opens Share, and an app’s details show Remixing again.
  • Deleting your account now takes 30 days, and signing in before then restores it; your apps stop being shared as soon as you ask, and asking signs you out everywhere.
  • The share sheet’s invite field is headed Invite others, since you can add groups there as well as people.
  • Chat is tighter: smaller names, flat bubbles, a compact composer, times lined up with the last line, avatars beside the last message, and frosted menus, message actions, and the typing indicator.
  • An app, photo, or video you attach sits across the top of the message, and on iPhone and in Safari a leading quote mark hangs in the margin so the text lines up.
  • People without a profile picture show the same coloured initial on cards, Explore, search, chat, and image viewers.
  • Text fields, text areas, and dropdowns share one smaller filled look, EDITING and BETA sit centred in their pills, and Share in an app’s bar reads as a button.
  • An open Groups or Pinned section closes when you click outside it.
  • Trending reflects opens, remixes, shares, and reviews within seconds instead of hours.
  • A Studio prompt typed before you sign up starts building once your profile exists, images on that first message reach the builder and stay visible while they are prepared, and your answers stay in the conversation instead of the questions coming back.
  • A new Studio app no longer asks to “Get this app running in Maypop.” after its first build, and the preview is no longer covered by build-error overlays.
  • A long Studio chat keeps going, finishes the work in progress before compacting, tells a failed request apart from a stop you asked for, keeps the conversation when it refreshes the preview, and keeps a copy of your prompt if the preview fails to start.
  • Studio keeps background work running, stops unused previews once they are idle, shows the reply when a long turn finishes with the preview still open, and no longer puts a stray tag in an iteration’s title.
  • After you switch accounts, Studio no longer opens the other account’s apps as your own, and a message sent in an app you can’t edit fails right away.
  • A newly pinned app settles at the bottom of Pinned instead of jumping to the top.
  • Opening a join request from your notifications opens that group’s Members settings.
  • A link that opens an app on a specific screen lands there for everyone, not only the app’s members, and anyone using a public app can share one.
  • Your app list drops Public and group sharing once those stop, and an app copied from another app no longer appears twice in My apps or on your profile.
  • Cards in the Featured apps deck no longer snap over each other halfway through a slide, and photos and videos in chat shrink to fit a narrow message.
  • The chat composer’s menu no longer offers GIF, notification settings no longer offer a Weekly digest, account settings no longer show buttons that did nothing, and Pick your passion only appears on the new tab page.
  • Right-clicking a message you are editing no longer opens its actions over the edit box.
  • The edge between an app and its side panel, and between a group’s apps and its chat, can be resized with the keyboard and by touch.
  • The outline that shows keyboard focus is visible in light and dark mode, and screen readers announce a running app, and its Studio preview, by the app’s name.
  • Studio can use your apps, and apps that allow remixing, as references for style, components, and behavior.
  • If an imported or remixed app opened in Studio as a blank starter, Restore files brings the files you brought in back.
  • Studio accepts HTML and framework projects, keeps the files you import, prepares the name and cover, and adapts the app to Maypop.
  • Importing, remixing, or recovering an app opens Studio with its files instead of a blank starter, and remixing no longer fails while those files are copied.
  • Studio shows the message you wrote when you open an imported app, without a list of its files.
  • Files and images you attach to a Studio message show in the queue right away and reach the builder in the order you sent them, staying out of the published app until the builder copies them in, and a message that fails to send returns to the composer.
  • Fast games and animations no longer stutter while running inside Maypop.
  • Backing out of Google sign-in in the Android app no longer leaves the app stuck reopening itself, so Continue with Google works again on the next try.
  • Connecting or reconnecting an integration in the mobile app opens inside the app and finishes there, instead of getting stuck in your browser.
  • In the iPhone and iPad app, swipe in from the left edge of the screen to go back.
  • Right-clicking an app under Shared with me opens the same menu as apps in a group, with Share, Send to phone and View details.
  • Apps made in the earlier Studio open, preview, and publish in the new one as they are, and a Migrate button in the chat moves them to the new app format.
  • Free runs one Studio at a time, Explorer three and Pro five, as the plans in Usage and billing now show; opening another stops an idle one for you, and asks first when its preview is open or an agent is still working.
  • On phones the menu button is gone: the tab bar gets you around, Chat has a New group button, the changelog is linked from Settings, and every page off the tab bar has a back arrow. Pages, headers and the chat share one side margin, so the message box lines up with the messages.
  • On an iPad or other tablet, holding it upright shows the phone layout and turning it sideways shows the desktop layout.
  • The mobile launch screen follows light and dark mode, so opening the app no longer flashes a dark screen before a light one; on iOS 18 and newer the app icon follows too, and older iOS versions show the light icon.
  • Editing an app’s details is more compact, and the panel lists its category, marks Sharing with a lock or a globe, says when it was updated, and no longer shows a Remixing row.
  • In an app’s bar the controls sit closer together, Edit is a sparkle that fills and shimmers on hover, fullscreen sits just before Share, and Share is brighter and shows a lock or a globe for who can open the app.
  • Studio’s questions show in full, with a real Something else field, the step you are on, and one Next or Send answers button, and the message box steps aside until you answer or cancel.
  • In Studio, the rename box fits the app’s name, an app without a name yet shows Untitled, the EDITING badge sits at the right end of the bar, and apps you are editing no longer carry a pencil badge in the sidebar.
  • Menus, cards, the sidebar and the message box share a quieter look: frosted menus, softer highlights, tighter type and corners, a footer that shows only the author beside a lock or a globe, and a microphone button that springs between its icons.
  • The chat memory ring in Studio also tracks your credit usage, filling to whichever is higher, and its panel shows both.
  • Inviting someone by email at an address they added to their account in Settings now reaches that account instead of sending them a sign-up email.
  • Opening a group invite while signed in with an account it wasn’t sent to now says so and offers Use a different account, instead of Couldn't load invite.
  • Maypop now tells you when push notifications can’t reach this browser and how to fix it, instead of silently dropping them.
  • In the mobile app, the screen stays above the keyboard and moves with it as it opens, so what you type stays in view; on iPhone the strip below the message box matches the page, and on Android the chat resizes at once.
  • On a browser shared by several accounts, My apps lists only the apps you made, and someone else’s published app opens as published instead of as an empty Studio credited to you.
  • Studio no longer asks you to load a saved version you are already building on.
  • Opening Studio on an app you didn’t make says only its author can edit it there, instead of not found.
  • A remixed app opens in Studio with the code of the app you remixed, instead of an empty starter app.
  • The iPhone and Android apps show a Can't reach Maypop screen with a Try again button when they can’t load, instead of a black screen.
  • Studio shows the latest run result when you return after a build finishes or asks you a question in the background.
  • Apps set to Anyone with the link show a globe instead of a lock on their cards, in the sidebar, in the app’s bar and in its details.
  • Done in Studio stays disabled while it saves, so it no longer looks like it can be pressed again.
  • The Maypop logo on the sign-in and onboarding screens shows in black in light mode.
  • Notifications in the mobile app appear below the phone’s status bar.
  • An app’s music and sound stop when you press Edit.
  • A Studio turn that ends before the agent writes its closing reply keeps its first message on screen and says how long it worked.
  • Resting the pointer on an app or the Studio preview no longer pops up a tooltip.
  • Studio drafts are kept per account, so signing in as someone else on the same browser no longer shows or edits the previous account’s drafts.
  • On phones, a bottom tab bar replaces the menu: Home, Explore, Create, Chat, and Profile.
  • On phones, Home and Chat have a search button: Home searches your apps and the ones shared with you, and Chat searches your groups, messages, and the people in them.
  • Explore can show Trending apps and Trending creators, the same top rankings counted over the last week.
  • Studio helps shape an open idea with guided questions about purpose, names, features, and design, with suggested choices you can combine and send together.
  • Shared app links show the app’s name, description, and cover in chat and social previews, and a link without a cover uses a Maypop wordmark card.
  • Maypop follows your device’s light or dark setting by default, and account settings adds Auto alongside Light and Dark.
  • On Android, the status bar and the bar at the bottom of the screen match the app’s theme so their icons stay readable.
  • On phones the app fills the whole screen, edge to edge.
  • Chat reactions open the same way everywhere: tap a message on a phone or right-click it on a computer, and the feed dims behind a palette with quick reactions, the emoji picker, edit, and delete.
  • A reaction grows into the message, the palette keeps clear of the screen edge, long words wrap inside the bubble, and your own messages are set off by a soft tint so a run from one person reads as one block.
  • The app header puts Share at the end of the row as the only filled button, places Edit beside More actions, fills the other icon buttons in when you hover them, and says Done when you finish editing.
  • Studio builds the app while images, video, and audio generate, then connects them when they are ready, and it writes a short description plus artwork, soundtracks, and action sounds that suit the project.
  • Generated layouts follow the main task, with consistent type and spacing, proportional artwork, lists with room, lined-up panels, no decorative glows, and text that stays put unless it is meant to be copied or edited.
  • On a phone, generated apps keep desktop features reachable, default to bottom tabs, and remember drafts and selections, while games fill the screen and explain the controls before play.
  • Composers in generated apps send on Enter and on Cmd or Ctrl+Enter, including from the mobile keyboard.
  • Social apps show each author’s Maypop name and avatar, product apps open on useful content and the signed-in user, and websites can keep their own header, all as defaults you can override.
  • When an app’s purpose changes, Studio suggests a new name, description, or thumbnail and you choose what to keep.
  • When a build finishes while you are away, Studio plays a sound, badges the browser tab, and can send an OS notification.
  • Images attached in the Studio chat stay with the live conversation: ones saved into the app keep showing, and the rest become a placeholder you can attach again.
  • The guided tour lights up the element it points at and keeps that highlight centred on it.
  • Motion across the app uses a shared set of curves, and the sidebar opens sooner when you hover it, waits longer before closing, and eases its highlight in.
  • The Studio toolbar matches the buttons beside it and stays centred as it changes width when you turn Select element or Edit text on.
  • An app shared with you directly works like one shared through a group: you can find it in search, open its files and data, use the same controls, and receive its notifications.
  • A notification sent by an app opens that app’s own page.
  • Send to phone asks you to sign in when you are logged out.
  • Pressing Enter in search when none of your apps match searches Explore for that name, and building a new app stays its own row.
  • In light mode the panel sits a shade below white, so cards, chat bubbles, and inputs read against it.
  • Signing out ends the session and shows a loading state on the way out, asks whether to save or discard unsaved profile changes, and Use a different account opens the sign-in page.
  • App thumbnails, group pictures, and chat photos load in the iOS app, the sign-in close button stays clear of the iPhone status bar, and the launch screen puts the mark on the same dark background as the home screen icon.
  • On phones, the release notes page has the same header as every other page, so the menu button no longer covers the title.
  • Renaming an app in Studio no longer draws the new name on top of the old one while you type.
  • An image in the Studio chat with a mislabeled format no longer breaks the conversation: it is corrected when possible, or left out so you can keep chatting.
  • An app whose Studio history grew too large to save trims old chat images so it can save again.
  • Studio refreshes an expired sign-in on its own so a long build can continue.
  • Chat no longer leaves an empty band between the last message and the message box.
  • Onboarding no longer replays on a new device or browser, because the questionnaire and each tour are saved to your account until you choose Replay tour.
  • Studio marks failed tests and unavailable verification as errors, with guidance for retrying.
  • Apps and Studio can generate video from a prompt and reference images, with Fast and Quality options.
  • Apps and Studio can generate music, voices, narration, sound effects and ambience from a prompt or reference media.
  • Image generation defaults to Fast with an optional Quality mode, and small image requests are upgraded to at least 2K.
  • You are notified when someone @mentions you in a group chat, when your monthly AI credit usage passes 80% and 100%, and for billing events like a top-up, a new subscription, a cancellation or a failed payment.
  • Pin an app to get its notifications; pins sync across your devices.
  • The browser tab shows your unread notification count, like (3) Explore — Maypop.
  • Right-click an app on Explore to Share or Remix it, and right-click an app in the sidebar to Pin, Unpin or Close it.
  • Connect integrations from the catalog or a custom MCP server in account settings or the new-tab composer, then add them to an app for everyone who uses it.
  • You can connect more than one account for the same integration and name each one.
  • Studio can use your connected integrations while building; an app only uses the ones you add to it.
  • Giving a person or group Can edit in the share sheet lets them open the editor and change the app.
  • Apps can add a Share button that copies a link to a specific screen.
  • The share sheet is one list: add people at the top, see everyone with access under Who has access, and change or remove what each one can do from a single menu.
  • General access is one setting: only the people you add, or anyone with the link can ask for access, view, or use the app.
  • Copy link now sits with buttons to share on X, WhatsApp, Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook or email, and Let people remix it is always available.
  • Sharing uses the same words everywhere: Can view, Can use, Can edit, Can manage.
  • An app’s panel opens with a large picture and centred name, with the creator listed alongside sharing, version and updated.
  • Maypop’s greys, tints and status colours are one palette across the app, tuned for light and dark.
  • Text sizes are consistent across the app, and secondary text is easier to read in dark mode.
  • App thumbnails and uploaded images load in browsers with an ad blocker turned on, such as Brave.
  • Adding people to a shared app or new group no longer stretches the window while you type.
  • The @ mention list in messages is no longer hidden behind the page.
  • Saving an app shows the new version right away, without a refresh.
  • The studio’s Iterations list says what each change did again.
  • An app sees its viewer’s current permissions, so narrowed access takes effect immediately.
  • Making an app public on its first save opens it to anyone with the link, and no longer blocks its next rename or description edit.
  • Apps made public before being saved no longer break Explore search, and stay hidden until they have a saved version.
  • Entertainment is available as a category in Studio, app details and Explore.
  • Apps built in Studio that show who can use them work again.
  • Editing an app in Studio from more than one tab or device no longer loses iterations or reverts the app to an earlier version.
  • Apps are the centre of Maypop. An app is a thing of its own that belongs to you, and everything it needs belongs to it: its own database, its own file storage, its own AI, its own address, and its own sharing. Open it from the sidebar, a chat, a link or Explore and it is the same app with the same data.
  • Groups are conversations. They sit in the sidebar as chats, with the apps that matter to that conversation pinned beside it as attachments. A group is an audience you share an app with, not the owner of it — so no group decides who may edit an app, what it stores, or which version people open.
  • Nothing is called a template any more. Everything is an app, everywhere you read it — what you build, what you remix, and what you find on Explore.
  • The studio was rebuilt, and everything you make in it is already there. From the first prompt you are working on the real app, against its real data, files and AI, and it saves itself as you go — there is no separate thing to publish before your app exists. Save is only the moment your changes become the version other people open.
  • Maypop looks new throughout: a new sidebar holding your open apps, your groups and your pinned apps; a new tab page that puts the composer over your whole library; the rebuilt studio docked beside the running app; and Explore for finding apps and the people who make them.
  • Maypop starts you on the new tab page — your composer and your library right there — and the old Home page is gone. Explore is still where you land on a phone before you sign in.
  • Search is now the way around. ⌘K or the sidebar’s Search looks through your apps, your groups and your messages, searches Explore, suggests apps to build from what you typed, and offers things to do — start a new tab, create a group — as well as things to open.
  • Setting up an account is shorter and ends somewhere useful: pick what you are into and Maypop opens the chat with app ideas drawn from your answers, or a few working apps you can copy, instead of an empty panel.
  • Sharing an app is one question with one link. The share sheet asks Private or Public, then what anyone holding the link may do — request access, open it, or open and use it — plus whether the app is discoverable on Explore. Every app has a single address, /app/<id>, and the old /share/<link> pages are gone.
  • Every app now gets its name, description, category and cover picture from Studio before it starts building, so a new app is never called Untitled App and never sits there without a picture.
  • The studio designs with guidance for the kind of thing it is building — web apps, landing pages, or games and 3D scenes — so each one looks designed on purpose, with far more varied palettes.
  • An app’s details dock beside the running app in a full-height panel — its picture, description, who can open it, which version you are on — with Edit app, Remix, Send to phone and Remove from group along the top of it. The separate details page is gone; old links land on the app itself.
  • A group is drawn from the faces of the people in it, with the biggest face being whoever built the most of the apps on that group’s shelf.
  • Creating a group is one short step: name it, add the people to invite by name or email, and press Create group.
  • Taking someone’s app and making it yours is called Remix everywhere, and remixing hands you a working copy straight away rather than an empty app.
  • You can build apps on your phone. Opening one of your apps gives you the same Edit app a computer does: the app fills the screen, the chat with Studio slides up from the bottom, and you can drag it taller to read or push it out of the way to watch your app change.
  • Share an app directly with a person, not only with a group — and invite someone by email even if they have never used Maypop. Everyone on the access list gets their own role: view, use, edit, or manage.
  • A Shared with me list on your apps page: every app someone shared with you, who shared it, and what you may do with it.
  • Your open apps in the sidebar show what the studio is doing to them: a pencil while an app is open for editing, a spinner while Studio is working, and a checkmark when Studio has finished or has a question. Start a long build, go do something else, and the news is still there when you come back.
  • Drag the apps you have open in the sidebar into whatever order you like; it sticks.
  • You can browse Explore, open apps and try them without an account; signing in is asked for only when you do something that needs it.
  • Offline group members now show when they were last online instead of just “Offline”.
  • While building visual elements — SVG illustrations, custom components, styling — Pi can now look at the app it’s drawing: it takes screenshots of the live preview as reference, and can zoom into just the element it’s working on to compare the result against what you asked for.
  • Generate a group image with AI from the group settings and from manual group creation — the option appears once the group has a name and description, and works even when an image is already set.
  • Referenced apps in the Studio can now be scoped to a specific facet — visual style, user flow, UI elements, or integrations — so Pi borrows just that part instead of the whole app. Typing @ in the message box also suggests relevant apps from the store, and after a build settles Pi may recommend an app worth borrowing from, with a screenshot preview.
  • Right-click for quick actions: right-clicking an app card opens the same actions as its ⋯ menu, an explore card offers view, see preview, remix, and share, empty space inside a group offers create an app or open settings, and the groups sidebar offers create a group or open settings.
  • A Console viewer in the app builder shows your running app’s log messages, warnings, and errors in a panel, so you can debug without opening browser developer tools. When the assistant needs those logs to fix something, a Share console logs button appears in the chat to send them in one click.
  • Studio can now choose and add any current shadcn UI building block directly to an app from a compatibility-checked catalog; it explains which control fits each job and can add a related set in one step, so interfaces start accessible and theme-safe without slowing down on repeated setup.
  • Apps can now read their group’s name, description, and image through the SDK (maypop.group.info()).
  • Sending a Studio message with images now asks what Pi should do with them: look right away, or save them as files in your project to open when needed — keeping big batches from filling up the conversation.
  • A small gauge next to the message box’s model picker shows how full the conversation is — amber when space is tight, red when the next send is at risk. Click it to see what’s taking the space (messages, images, files) and free some up with one click, before anything fails.
  • Owners can edit an app’s name, description, thumbnail, and category right from its details panel, without opening the full edit flow.
  • Apps can send you notifications — a poll closing, your turn in a game — through the Maypop bell and push, with a settings toggle to turn them off.
  • Group members can see how the group’s apps are used — opens, minutes, unique users, and AI usage inside the group, by day, week, or month, with a per-app breakdown — in a new Analytics section of group settings.
  • Edit text directly in the app preview: pick the text tool in Studio, click any text, and type. Simple wording changes apply instantly without asking the assistant; anything trickier is handed to it automatically.
  • Explore has a personalized For you row — templates picked for you based on the apps you’ve been using recently.
  • Notifications can be dismissed one at a time (hover for the ×), and a Clear all button in the panel’s footer clears everything at once.
  • Explore has a new Entertainment category.
  • Studio now asks two focused planning specialists to advise the first build before the main builder starts, improving component selection and interaction planning without changing the visible conversation.
  • Studio now points generated feature code back to matching shadcn components instead of letting common interface primitives be rebuilt as parallel custom copies.
  • Explore now reveals each section as soon as it loads instead of waiting for the entire page before showing any templates or creators.
  • When an app is shared, anyone opening the link can now see the app’s saved data — read-only — not just the empty app. Group members still read and write as before; guests can only read, and never see other members’ private data.
  • Studio now builds an app in the language you write your prompt in, so a request in another language gets an app localized to that language, and keeps its wording in one place so it’s easy to translate or remix later.
  • New Explore page to discover templates
  • You can attach up to 10 images to a Studio message, and once there are more than four they collapse into a compact thumbnail grid — each with its own remove button.
  • Studio’s floating toolbar got a refresh: version history now lives in the toolbar and opens right over the app preview, Publish moved up next to the app title, and a drag handle on the toolbar’s edge shows it can be moved.
  • Versions are now called iterations, titled by a short plain-language note of what each one changed, with the time below and a Revert always at hand. The chat header turned to glass — messages blur beneath it as they scroll.
  • App notifications can now deep-link you to a specific screen in the app instead of just its home page.
  • The billing panel now shows how long is left on your plan alongside the renewal date — for example Renews in 12 days · Jun 12, 2026.
  • Search clickthrough in Studio analytics is now more accurate: each time your app appears in results counts once, and only a result’s first click counts, so the rate always reflects real click behavior.
  • More accurate trending section computation, taking into account more interactions.
  • The model you pick in a chat now sticks when you switch tabs and come back (and across reloads), instead of resetting to the default.
  • The “thinking” timer now keeps counting from when Pi actually started, instead of resetting to 00:00 when you switch tabs or windows and come back.
  • Pi’s replies now stay short later in a conversation, not just on the first one; if a reply still comes back overly long, it’s automatically shortened into a quick recap before you see it.
  • The “Share console logs” button no longer stays greyed out when the app logged nothing — you can always share, and Pi is told the console is empty.
  • Home now shows activity placeholders during the first sync instead of briefly saying there is nothing to show.
  • Studio now reserves the composer and app gallery layout while local drafts load, avoiding visible page jumps.
  • Home, Studio, and Explore now begin rendering as the mobile drawer closes, with route code prefetched for touch navigation and local content restored in the background.
  • Choosing a group on a phone now closes the navigation drawer smoothly and reliably, including when that group opens directly into its default app.
  • Previously loaded group apps now appear immediately from the device while the latest server-sorted list refreshes in the background.
  • Previously opened apps now show their saved on-device data immediately while refreshing in the background, instead of returning to Loading… after a reload.
  • Group and app screens now open correctly when Maypop is accessed from a phone over a local network connection.
  • Moving between pages and groups now shows cached content immediately while missing data refreshes in the background, including on phones without hover.
  • The loading screen now moves immediately while Maypop downloads, and startup work runs in parallel, downloads less closed-dialog code, skips an extra web font, defers analytics, and opens previously downloaded data before the sign-in check finishes so the app becomes ready sooner.
  • Creating a new app inside a group is no longer confusing to back out of: leaving an untitled app you never built discards it and returns you to the group, and once you’ve built something the tab menu lets you either close the tab or just exit edit mode to view the app.
  • On iPad, tapping the message box no longer pushes the whole app up behind Safari’s toolbar or leaves an empty strip of scrollable space at the bottom — the app stays put and the message box sits just above the keyboard.
  • The same holds in Chrome on iPad: the page no longer scrolls into a strip of empty space below the app, the message box sits snug against the on-screen keyboard instead of floating above it, and the sidebar lifts out of the keyboard’s way so its bottom buttons stay reachable.
  • Long chats no longer fail with a request-too-large error before the model can reply — the size limit is higher, and when a chat does get too big you’re offered a one-click way to trim it (below) rather than hitting a dead end.
  • If a chat still grows too large to send, Studio now explains why and offers a one-click trim that frees images and oversized results from the oldest messages first — only as much as needed to fit — so recent images stay with the model and the chat itself still shows everything. The trim sticks: once trimmed, the conversation keeps working without re-trimming after every message, and it survives reloads.
  • If a single message has too many or too-large images to send, Studio now warns you right above the message box — keeping the message and its images staged so you can remove a few and resend — instead of a popup or a size error.
  • A corrupt or unsupported image is now caught before sending with a clear message, instead of failing partway through as a vague connection error.
  • When the latest message itself is too large (not the history), Studio now trims its images from the conversation automatically, says so, and asks you to resend with less text or fewer pictures — instead of offering a “trim history” that can’t help and just fails again.
  • A message too heavy with images to send no longer spends a minute “reconnecting” before failing — Studio recognizes it as a size problem right away and offers to trim.
  • Studio holds onto your original request and your stated preferences better in long sessions, so it drifts less from what you asked for after a chat has been running for a while.
  • Studio now automatically reconnects and retries when the model drops mid-reply or the connection fails, instead of stopping with an error. It shows a reconnecting status while it retries and only surfaces the error if it can’t recover.
  • In Studio, opening a draft no longer counts as editing it, so the Recently edited sort reflects real changes instead of whatever you opened last.
  • Large or high-resolution images sent to the AI — attachments, pasted images, and app screenshots — are now automatically resized so they no longer fail the request when they exceed the model’s size limit.
  • App cards in a group now have the ⋯ menu that was missing — share, send to phone, view details, or remove the app from the group.
  • Some app thumbnails that failed to load with a CORS error from the CDN now load reliably.
  • The notification bell no longer shows a phantom count for chats you have already read — reading a conversation on one device now clears its bell notification on your other devices too, and a new device or cleared browser data no longer replays notifications you have already seen.
  • A hard refresh no longer leaves app and group thumbnails blank until the next normal refresh.
  • Apps share saved data with signed-in group members by default. Access changes published by a store owner or group admin apply automatically, while other app editors request review unless the store explicitly trusts them.
  • App creators can see analytics for each published app in Studio — remixes, opens, minutes used, unique users, and search clickthrough rate by day, week, or month, plus the app’s quality scores and RBR ranking, with version releases marked on the timeline.
  • Reference other apps while building: add apps from your groups, your own apps, or the template store from the + menu, then @-mention one and describe a component you liked so the assistant can reuse it in your app.
  • Choose a default visibility for new apps in Settings — Group-only or Public link. New apps start with that choice pre-selected when you publish, and Public link gives the app a shareable link anyone can open without an account or group. You can still change it per app when publishing.
  • Studio tabs show a spinner while a build is running, and the notification bell tells you when a build finishes — so you can start one and step away.
  • Push notifications: get notified on your lock screen even when Maypop is closed. Turn them on per device from notification settings or the bell — the existing notification toggles choose what gets pushed, and quiet hours silence pushes overnight.
  • Chats now load older history on demand as you scroll up while keeping loaded messages live, so your device does not retain every conversation forever.
  • A group’s app gallery now loads in pages, keeping groups with hundreds of published apps fast to open and browse.
  • Large group rosters now load in pages while showing accurate member totals, and member search finds people beyond the roster already on your device.
  • Reputation-based rewards — how people use your apps now rolls up into per-creator reputation and contribution scores that rank creators and divide a shared reward pool.
  • Groups can now be public: admins can make a group discoverable on the explore page and choose whether anyone can join instantly or has to request approval first; you can also choose this when creating a new group.
  • Apps can open real-time peer-to-peer multiplayer sessions through the SDK (maypop.multiplayer.connect) — game data travels directly between players, end-to-end encrypted, for low-latency play.
  • Get notified when someone asks to join your group, and when your join request is approved.
  • Open public groups let you look around automatically — browse apps, members, and messages as a guest, and join when you’re ready.
  • Studio chat enhancements — long build conversations stay fast and readable: older turns are summarized and detailed steps collapse down so the chat doesn’t grow unwieldy.
  • The Studio builder can now take a screenshot of the app it’s building and review the result, so it catches visual issues and produces better apps.
  • Joining or leaving a group now syncs just that group’s data instead of re-downloading everything, so big accounts update much faster.
  • Your email address is no longer shared with other members through open public groups.
  • Multiplayer rooms now sync directly between players: state changes arrive in tens of milliseconds instead of a few hundred, and session state lives only with the players — when the last person leaves, it’s gone for good.

  • Phone handoff — send an app to your phone with a QR code or pair code.
  • More accurate, consistent template quality scoring, which sharpens how results are ranked and filtered in search.
  • Quick Edit now preserves and publishes an app’s .maypop/kv-policy.json changes with the new app version, and stops safely if it cannot verify the app’s current data policy.
  • Code-only app suggestions no longer fail when they carry forward an unchanged live data policy, cannot restore an older policy without edit permission, and groups can keep opening revisions later removed from new installs.
  • App details now finds the data store an app actually uses, so group admins can manage its access policy.
  • Apps catch up on saved data whenever their live connection reconnects, so a change made during a brief disconnect no longer waits for another edit.
  • Sorting a paginated group app gallery now orders the whole library instead of only the apps already loaded on your device.
  • App searches now find accessible apps even when they have not been loaded into the current page yet.
