The Studio workspace
When you open Studio, Maypop starts a private cloud workspace for you and that app. It’s a real development environment:
- The app’s code is checked out from its history and its dependencies are installed.
- A development server runs the app with hot reload; that’s your preview.
- The agent can install npm packages and use frameworks — new apps start from React and Vite with the Maypop SDK ready to use.
- The agent drives a real browser to test the app at desktop and phone sizes before telling you it’s done.
- Every finished iteration is saved to the app’s history, so the workspace itself is disposable.
What runs where
Section titled “What runs where”The workspace is only for building. The published app is the static result: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and assets that Maypop serves and opens in a secure frame. Nothing from the workspace keeps running after publishing — data, files, AI and multiplayer come from the app SDK.
How many at once
Section titled “How many at once”Each plan can run a number of Studios at the same time:
| Plan | Studios at a time |
|---|---|
Free |
1 |
Explorer |
3 |
Pro |
5 |
Opening one more shows Another Studio is running, with Stop and continue
to free a slot, or Upgrade plan.
Pausing and restoring
Section titled “Pausing and restoring”A workspace stops after a few minutes with nothing running and nobody connected, and 30 minutes after the agent last ran even with the tab open. A stopped workspace is cleaned up after a day. None of that loses work: reopening Studio starts a fresh workspace from the app’s saved history.
