Groups

A group is a conversation for a set of people — a family, a team, a club, a class — at app.maypop.ai/chat/<id>. Each group has:

  • Chat, with replies, reactions and @mentions of people and of apps shared into the group. Mentioned people are notified.
  • Members with roles.
  • A shelf (Shared apps) of the apps shared into the group, sorted by Top or New.

Groups are private. Nobody can find one by searching; people join with an invitation or an invite link. See Members and invites.

Role Can
Owner Everything, including changing roles and deleting the group
Admin Rename the group, invite people, make invite links, set how people join, and remove members below them
Member Chat, use the group’s apps, see the members, and leave

These are roles in the group. What someone can do in an app shared into the group is set by the app’s role for that group — see Apps in groups.

An app always belongs to its creator. Sharing it into a group makes the group one of its audiences: members open the same app, with the same data and the same live version, as everyone else who has it. A group’s owner and admins can remove an app from their group, but can’t change its data, versions or settings.

Group settings has Details (name, description, image, and Pin group to sidebar), Members, Settings (How people join), Analytics, and Advanced — Leave group, or for the owner Delete group. The owner removes the other members before deleting a group.
